songs on my heavy rotation: march 2021

New monthly heavy rotation playlist?

I’ll admit I didn’t discover a lot of new music in March. I listened to a ton of Harry Styles during the production of my Fine Line the Movie campaign (my in-depth post HERE and view the rest of the assets HERE). Aside from Harry, I don’t even know how I can describe the kinds of music I listened to this month.

But I’ll let y’all be the judge.

Your Love // Little Mix

Your Love often finds itself into my heavy rotation every once in a while; I genuinely don’t know how or why it falls off so often. This song is not to be slept on. Besides the acoustic version of Touch, this is one of my favourite songs off Glory Days.

Going Out of My Way // M.O ft. Mr. Eazi

Going Out of My Way came out a year ago in March 2020, but this song has only popped up on my radar now????

Although I’m a year late, I’m glad I discovered this song when I did because I swear to god I’m obsessed. I’ll probably be bumping this more in the summer, but it’s never too early to start looking for your songs of the summer and I think this is one to add to the list.

Lost One // Jazmine Sullivan

LISTEN: I KNOW that I’m late to not discovering not only this song but also to listening Jazmine Sullivan’s album Heaux Tales. I KNOW. Y’all don’t need to come for me – I acknowledge that I’m fashionably late to the party.

HOWEVER, this song is IT. I love it so much. I don’t think this really needs much of an explanation on my part other than the fact that it’s beautiful. There is so much about this song that I love and resonate with it, it’s insane. I strongly recommend hitting play on the video above to hear her live performance of Lost One.

10/10 would recommend.

Good in Bed // Dua Lipa

Part of me thinks that miss Dua listened to Smile by Lily Allen and drew inspiration from that song to create this one. But part of me knows that miss Dua is also capable of creating bops all on her own. And we’ve seen this time and time again. Although, I would strongly suggest searching up Good in Bed x Smile mashup, because the few that I’ve listened to are incredible.

I love Future Nostagia so much; there are so many tracks on there that have easily become some of my favourites. I’m not too sure what it is about Good in Bed that I love so much (besides the lyrics, the vibe, the track and everything in between), but I will say pay close attention to Dua’s voice in this song (I seriously don’t know how she does it but she be doin’ it).

Easily // Bruno Major

Easily is probably on everyone else’s heavy rotation as much as it is on mine, but it popped up a few months ago for me and simply hasn’t left. It’s worth the listen and it’s definitely worth your time.

I Feel It Coming // The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk

No other explanation needed other than the fact that I Feel It Coming makes me feel good.

Another Love // Tom Odell

Another Love has been around for a while, it’s even in some of my many playlists on Spotify. I just listened to this song a lot in March, not because I felt like I was in the mood for this song but because of how good it is.

Sunday Morning // k-OS

I’ll tell you something funny (that honestly isn’t really): my work scheduled me for these crazy morning shifts for a few weeks (which I wasn’t really used to because I would mostly get middays and I’m also not a morning person). Every single time I woke up and had to leave for an early morning shift, I would play this song. And it wouldn’t even be a Sunday.

Adorn // Miguel

Adorn came out eight, nearly nine years ago and I’m still bumping it like it came out yesterday. This song is not to be slept on I promise you.

Fine Line // Harry Styles

Because this album has consumed my every thought, Fine Line seemed fitting to include at the end of March’s playlist. I won’t go too much into detail because I explain so much more in my in-depth post (that I strongly recommend you read), but my March was made because of this album.

OKAY, if you’ve made it this far and you’re reading this, it means you made it through the entirety of my second ever heavy rotation playlist without passing out. Congratulations, because you now get access to the songs that made it onto my honourable mentions list – the tracks that were too good not to add.

*Honourable Mentions:

Love Like This // Natasha Bedingfield ft. Sean Kingston

A Public Affair // Jessica Simpson

Watermelon Sugar // Harry Styles

Home // One Direction

Levitating // Dua Lipa ft. DaBaby

Selfish // Future ft. Rihanna

Take Back the Night // Justin Timberlake

Edge of Midnight Remix // Miley Cyrus ft. Stevie Nicks

Until next month…

ED out x.
