When you last heard from me it was in February and I explained that this blog existed for the soul purpose of an assignment. Fast forward a few months, we’re well into the second wave of corona, I’ve managed to start and finish an entire full-time unpaid internship online, I’ve graduated from my post-secondary program, and I still don’t know how I’m feeling about it.
About a week or so ago, I ran a poll on my Instagram story to get a feel for who would be interested in reading my blogs again should I choose to come back to this interesting life. If you’re here and you’re reading these words, you can probably guess the results of the poll.
For starters, I didn’t think I’d actually consider returning to blogging but something about it made me want to come back. After redesigning my blog and giving it a new look and feel, I guess you could say I’ve returned. For how long? I’m not too sure. I’d rather not put a timeline on it and just see how things go. But officially…
Welcome to Ellie Doe-Demosse: Unfiltered…again, but rebranded.
To tell you a little bit about myself, I’m a 20 year old Durham College Public Relations graduate. Before my post-secondary studies, I dabbled in freelance journalism in high school but gave it up to focus on my education after I graduated.
Around that time, I also started writing poetry and have since published two bodies of work – She Dreams and the truth you took away (only the truth is available for purchase on Amazon because I’m considering reworking and republishing She Dreams, but stay tuned). And to top it off, I did make interesting and artsy Youtube videos where I produced some of my poetic bodies of work into visuals, posted covers, and put together various other projects.
My whole life has been centered around the arts – I was an African dancer from the age of three until 16. I am absolutely obsessed with music and have been since before I knew what music was. I’ve been singing since the age of four and simply haven’t stopped (if you follow me on social media, you may have seen or heard a cover or two). Fun fact: I actually wanted to be musician growing up and highkey, I think about that dream from time to time.
But for now, as a recent college graduate all of my focus, stress, and everything in between has been set on finding a big girl job.
I guess that’s my introduction into my new blog and a catch up on what’s going on in my life. Until the next blog post…
ED out x.
